Reinvention: Pedagogical Growth

This week we’re considering rationales and strategies for reinvention. Today: pedagogical growth.

You’re a different teacher than you were five years ago. You’ve learned new teaching strategies and new repertoire, clarified your values and vision.

Most of the time, you can simply integrate these new strengths into your current events, but sometimes it requires a wholesale reinvention rather than integration.

When I learned to conduct left-handed, I couldn’t simply integrate into my current conducting, I had to completely reinvent my conducting.

Your own pedagogical growth is fantastic reason to reinvent parts of your teaching or leadership. When we know better, we lead better.
