There’s no repaying mentorship. Except for one thing.
Mentor others.
The teachers and musicians who shaped and mentored me have been told of and thanked for their impact, repeatedly; but there’s nothing I can do to really match the impact they had one me. Except to mentor others. I get to take the gifts poured into me by my mentors, and pour them into others.
And on the flip side, I don’t want anything special from the students I’ve mentored over the years…except that, when given the chance, they serve and mentor others.
That, and an update every once in a while. There’s nothing better than hearing what your former students are doing!
