My ensemble got its post-retreat energy bump before retreat this year.
I generally know to expect extra chaos and socialization in the rehearsals immediately following the retreat. That’s the retreat doing its job – they have become closer! And then it becomes my job to help my students harness their connection into music-making.
This year, owing to a few factors including personality, carryover from last year, and maybe the excitement of weathering a tornado warning during rehearsal, they have gotten there ahead of schedule.
