What I teach today is different than what I taught twenty years ago.
The culmination of my year with the Rockford Aces is our annual concert – this year, May 24 at 7pm.
It’s perfectly healthy to feel and express big emotions. Sometimes it’s a teacher’s job to create the circumstances.
Not every choir has the same goals. Make them clear.
Always excellent is better than occasionally remarkable.
Not every piece has the same musical element in the foreground.
What elevation is your timescale this month?
The saddest I regularly see students is at the end of closing night of a show. It’s beautiful.
I love being able to hear priorities.
Just because your ensemble is defined by singing doesn’t mean you have to be singing when you rehearse.
