Missing Music Making

How soon after you finish the school year is too soon to miss music-making?

I’m exhausted from an incredibly intense school year, and to be honest, I’m not done yet – I’m still spending time in the studio every week with my students! Even so, I’m already missing working on music with my students.

I have two takeaways from this knowledge.

  1. It’s the growth that I miss most. Tackling new repertoire and seeing my students grow.
  2. I’m in the right place. The work you miss is the work you should lean into.

Teachers, what are you missing now that you’re a couple weeks into summer? What can’t you wait to get started on?
