Like bravery, success is about doing it anyway.
I love the idea that “Bravery isn’t a lack of fear – it’s feeling the fear and doing it anyway.”
You won’t succeed if you wait until you’re not tired. “I’ll work on this when I’m not so tired.”
Success is being tired and doing it anyway.
Too often we all use tiredness as an excuse to give less than our all. Students, especially, need to learn how to feel the tiredness and do it anyway. It’s part of the value of the theatre, of competitive sports, of retreats and long rehearsals and big shows to prepare for.
Learn to treat tiredness as part of the deal, part of life. And then do it anyway.
