Curiosity Is A Superpower

Today, I could take a test in pretty much any high school math class and earn a passing grade. People are almost always surprised that I can still perform trigonometry, algebra, geometry, removed over a quarter century from my last math class.

Doing math isn’t the superpower. But being genuinely curious, across a lifetime, can be a superpower.

I got good at math because I was genuinely curious about how to solve the problems. Because I was curious, I didn’t cram the information just to pass a test, but learned it to satisfy my curiosity. That, of course, led to more things to learn.

My curiosity has been what has supported me in acquiring knowledge across multiple disciplines, and retaining it across long spans of time.

How do you get curious? By ignoring the grades and focusing on your own human nature.
