Better To Finish

Fear incomplete projects more than you fear imperfect projects.

When I was a student, I was often fixated on making sure my projects were perfect. I wouldn’t share anything – publicly, certainly, but even with teachers or friends – until the things I wrote, performed, or recorded were as good as I thought I could make them.

(Ironically, I can do better with less time now than I could then. Time really is a magician.)

The truth is, I would have learned more, moved faster, and accomplished bigger things if I had finished projects and moved on more quickly. Things left unfinished can’t help anyone, including yourself.

Better to finish than to be perfect.
