I like to think of my future self as a friend. Not as myself.
And as a friend, there are two things that shape my thinking.
- Trust my future self. There are creative projects, to do lists, and answers to problems that I can’t tackle yet. Or don’t know how! But I try to trust that my future self will.
- Do nice things for my future self. Whether it’s setting myself up for success tomorrow or planning ahead for a hard day, it helps to think of my prep work as things I’m doing as a gift to my future self.
