You’ll never start.
I’ve had a lot of students over the years who knew they were going to accomplish something specific – as soon as they were ready.
“I’m going to be a composer, once I’ve taken all the classes to have the skills.”
“I’m going to write a book, once I’ve gotten good enough at writing.”
“I’m going to start a hit YouTube channel, once I’m great at producing videos.”
“I’m going to audition for a show, once I’m ready to nail it.”
You can’t wait till you’re ready. You have to start before you’ve gotten all your skills together, and then just keep going. You’ll build the skills as you go.
Will your first project be your best project? Of course not. But that’s okay. The most important thing about the first project is that you learn enough to do make the second project a bit better.
Don’t gatekeep yourself from trying to do the things you see yourself doing.
