If you’re thinking about decluttering or attempting minimalism or just simplifying your possessions, a good question to ask is, “If I were moving tomorrow, would I move this?” It’s a way to quickly separate the things you really want to have from the things that are there just because they’re familiar.
When was the last time you asked the same type of question about your choral program?
That is, if I had to start this choir program from scratch tomorrow, what would I keep? What would I change? What would I scrap?
It’s easy to keep doing things because you do them, long after they are no longer the best way to serve the community or your students. Perhaps there should be regular time set aside for reevaluating top-to-bottom every decade or so, just to make sure you’re remaining true to your intentions.
