Tomorrow I’m off on an adventure.
I’ll start by wishing my friend and brilliant vocal jazz arranger/director/publisher Matt Falker a speedy recovery from the flu. Because of that illness, he called me yesterday and asked if I could fill in for him this weekend. That’s why I’m flying to Wisconsin tomorrow to pitch-hit conduct the Wisconsin All-State Jazz Choir!
I’m excited, nervous, thrilled, stressed – all the things you’d expect from saying yes to a new challenge. I’m thrilled at the opportunity, frantically cramming the music Matt selected, and packing my bags for a new adventure. New adventures are the best opportunity for growing, so saying “yes” was an easy decision once we sorted through the logistics.
