It’s camp time for bands and choirs…not to mention football teams, Scout Troops, student councils, etc.
Why are they so important? Band Camp, Choir Retreat – what difference do they make?
I think of this quote:
“A week of camp life is worth six months of theoretical training in the meeting room.”
– Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scouting MovementWhy is it worth so much?
Because you’re isolated from your day-to-day.
Because you’re together from morning to night.
Because you’re always thinking about your ensemble, your troop, your team.
Because you have the space to approach things you otherwise wouldn’t be able to.
Because the team development you can tackle at camp pays dividends throughout the year.
