I recently asked one of my kids, “What do you think I’ll do when you’re all adults and out of the house?”
We talked about ideas: write more music, maybe another book. “Clean less!” was a funny answer.
In the end, my kids answers all amounted to: more of what you’re already doing.
If you had more time, would you do more of what you do now? Or find something different to do?
I take it as a sign of a life well-chosen that, if given more free hours in the day, I’d lean even harder into what I’m already doing. And I take it of a life well-lived that my kids can see that passion for my work.
