I have given myself an extra 30-60 minutes a day this month by pre-writing all my posts. I hope I’ve been combining it with a summer “social media sabbatical” to find more time to do the things I want to prioritize this summer. That includes:
- More family time – playing games, walking, cooking, laughing
- More specific advanced planning for my ensembles and classes
- More time spent thinking and dreaming
- More books & poetry
- More music I’ve never heard before
- Mixing albums from Shades of Blue and The Rockford Aces
- New writing for both of those ensembles
- Recording with Mandy
- More new music for my Patreon
- Publishing my first book, Jazz Theory for Choral Musicians
- Beginning work on my next book
- Organizing, cleaning, and decluttering (my home, my office, my brain!)
If you see me at the end of the summer, ask me how it’s going!
