Planning only gets you so far.
My day was short circuited before it even began, thanks to a middle of the night thunderstorm and a very anxious dog. All the planning and positive intention for the first day back from Spring Break couldn’t prepare me for the day that was to come, because the night was completely uncontrollable – and impossible to plan for.
We can do our best planning, and we can build in slack to be prepared for interruptions, and we can think of everything, and still we might sometimes fail to do what we intended to. We can be firmly in control, but we can’t control everything.
