How often do you say a silent thank you in your day-to-day?
When I’m out for a winter walk, I say a silent thank you to my departed dog Bijou.
There are certain types of decisions I make and interactions I have that end with me saying a silent thank you to a past student, for teaching me something that informed my behavior now.
I say a silent thank you almost every day to my family for shaping who I am.
A silent thank you is a great way to maintain the connection to the people who shape you. It’s a way to practice gratitude in your daily work. And it’s a way to widen your view and recognize the way the work you do today is connected to the work of the past.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
