There are lots of ways to win in creative competitions.
Creative work falls firmly under the category of infinite games – you can’t win creativity.
But that doesn’t stop people from having creative competitions. And there can be lots of reasons to enter yourself in those competitions, including exposure, money, acclaim, and future opportunities.
It’s important to redefine “winning”, though so you don’t get too hooked in to thinking your creative worth is tied to the outcome of a competition.
Winning is learning from the competition process.
Winning is finding like-minded people you can connect with.
Winning is growth.
Winning is getting the motivation to push yourself to finish a creative project.
Winning is finding inspiration for the next project.
