Reasons For Good Posture

It’s not enough to say, “stand tall!” There are lots of reasons we can communicate.

  1. Your instrument. Posture affects tone.
  2. Your mind. An engaged posture can reflect – and affect! – an engaged mind.
  3. Your colleagues. Seeing you physically engaged is a silent way to show your presence in rehearsal.
  4. Your communication. In performance, your physical presence will be a big part of how your audience receives your music.
  5. Your preparation. You will want to convey professionalism in performance, and that comes from practice.
