Professionals

When you’re working with professionals, it’s evident almost immediately – and it makes your own performance, and your state of mind, so much better.

I spent part of yesterday in a socially-distanced video shoot with several professionals from Grand Rapids Community College. Each other person there (someone from the charitable arm of the college, and two members of the Media Services team) both (a) knew their job well and (b) how to integrate their job cohesively with what everyone else was doing. There was mutual respect, relaxed conversation, and quick and clear performance when needed.

This is what I want each of my students to become. Not someone who can do everything, or even someone who is the best in the world at something.

A professional.

Know your work and work well with others. Working with other professionals is the best feeling.
