Practice Mind

For effective practice, hold onto this cognitive dissonance. You must maintain both of these ideas in your head when you practice.

  1. “I must do better.” A firm desire to self-assess and work to improve in areas where you come up short.
  2. I’m perfect as I am.” A conviction that you are worthy and whole.

You can’t switch back and forth – you must hold them both at once.

Hold only #1 and you will end up avoiding the practice room: it’s too damaging to the ego. Hold only #2 and you will end up unmotivated to continue growth and also end up avoiding the practice room.

The only way forward is both.
