Don’t let it move your deadline, but take the time to plus your creative work.
Disney’s creative process famously includes a practice called plussing. All the way through the animation process – over and over, cel by cel – the creative team asks “What can make this moment better.” It might be tiny things, it might be clarifying a through line.
While I’m a big proponent of finishing and shipping creative works with speed, I also think it’s worth taking the time to iterate at the end. When the creative work is in pretty good shape, take the time to consider how to plus it. Zoom in to consider the tiny details, but also zoom out to consider the creative throughline.
