Today, I’m taking one last look back at the school year that was.
I’m perennially facing forward, like so many conductor/educators I know. The next concert. The next commission. The next lesson. I have to consciously remind myself to reflect because otherwise I don’t get a chance to enjoy things as they pass by.
So today, I’m taking a few minutes, just before I get next year started, and I’m looking to the past.
Strategically, I’ll be taking notes for things I want to retain and things I want to revise. But also it’s a great chance to really enjoy the year that was, now that I’m distanced enough from it to see it clearly.
