I’m not thinking about programming this week.
Yes, I just finished a week talking about programming options. Yes, the first day of school is coming soon. Yes, the right repertoire is the cornerstone of a successful year.
I’m not thinking about programming for two big reasons.
- Time away from active work on the ensemble is essential to doing the work long-term.
- In the end, I’m always most successful when I program after I hear the ensemble together.
I’ll be thinking more about repertoire soon, and you will too…but give yourself a break. All in good time.
