Letting them struggle is a gift.
Your students, your mentees, your children. Giving them space to face and overcome their fears, try ideas that don’t work, and just generally do things that require resiliency: this is the greatest gift we can give those in our care.
It’s easy to solve problems for the young people we care for; but it’s not in their best interest. Their future selves won’t thank you for not giving them the chance to solve their own problems.
Let them struggle.
