If it’s guaranteed to work, then it’s almost certainly something that’s been tried before; all creativity carries with it the risk of failure.
Is it any wonder that creativity is so inconsistently taught, celebrated, and encouraged in our schools?
Want creative students? Stop grading on the results. Because they might fail.
Want creative children? Stop caring about their grades. Because seeking grade performance undermines the creative impulse.
Want to be creative? Stop expecting the results to be good. They’ll be what they’ll be, and then you can continue being creative.
