There are skills I’ve built already as a teacher during the pandemic.
There are skills I hope I never have to use again. And there are skills and tools I’ve tried and said, “I’ll keep using this.”
I’ll keep using remote one-on-one mini-lessons. These have been a great way to connect individually with my students, learn more about them as people, and make sure that they are learning their own parts effectively.
I’ll keep using remote recording (occasionally). I’d rather go into the studio, but when the right moment arises, I’m delighted to be able to create a virtual recording that enables to keep working while apart.
I’ll keep using part track services like ChoralTracks, which empowers students to learn on their own. The better the part tracks, the more likely they are to be used.
What about you? What new tool or skill did you acquire during remote teaching that will become a permanent part of your repertoire?
