A month and a half ago, lots of people jumped into projects with both feet. Probably too many projects.
Lots of them have fallen by the wayside – too big a dip, too much work, or just too much distraction. And lots of us have now fallen into new routines.
The message I’m sending my students this week is to have a project now.
Have something that gets you out of bed and motivates you to create, to grow, to move forward. Having a project to keep you moving forward is crucial to staving off the blues of a life with too little of the day-to-day business that keeps us going.
If the days are blurring together as your new routine gets locked in, have a project.
(Note: this is beyond the schoolwork that is keeping many students very busy on their computers. It should be something that rewards time and that excites and motivates you. Honestly, we need these kinds of projects ALL the time, not just during pandemics.)
