Who It’s Good For This piece is a miniature, effectively 5 bars long. It’s got a jazz harmonic sensibility but would work for any mixed choir. The piece is in A because it was written as an a cappella introduction to a piece in that key. It would work well in keys from G to C, depending on what follows it.

What’s the Story? I wrote this as an a cappella introduction to the official set of the 2024 Wisconsin All-State Jazz Choir. Since I hadn’t picked the repertoire (I was a last-minute replacement) it was a chance to add a bit of my own stamp to the performance, and also give them something unique to them.
