Choose Your Monotony

I don’t think any work doesn’t come with a certain amount of monotony. Even the most creative task has a part of it that’s tedious.

For example, I’m in the midst of my annual band-chart-athon preparing for the Rockford Choirs Cabaret. I love doing it, I always learn a lot about music, and the outcome is fantastic.

But I also will do the same tasks (for example, typing in cue lyrics at major spots in each arrangement) hundreds and hundreds of times. It’s dull.

But that’s the monotony I chose. For me, it’s a lot easier to manage and move through the monotony, because it’s in my chosen career and it is part of a much less monotonous project that I love.
