There’s something special about the bonds we form in choir.
That’s true whether it’s the friends you return to, year after year, or the songs you can sing a quarter century later, in 4-part harmony, or in some special occasions, the couples who forget lifelong bonds in their choir.
If you started dating in Math or English class, you’re high school sweethearts or a college couple. If it started in choir, you’re definitely a choir couple.
[Full disclosure, I’m half of a choir couple approaching 20 years of marriage.]
The bonds we form while making music together are true love – whether it’s romance, philia, or storge – and are just another of the many gifts of our work together in choir.
It’s a particular joy to watch choir couples blossom and sometimes, even marry. I know that their love was fed by the work of making music in the choir.
