Breaking Up With The School Year

I have a little trouble shifting gears when the school year ends. I don’t think that’s uncommon.

I love my work and naturally work hard to do my best for my students and colleagues. I work a lot. So do all my friends in education.

The challenge is that even though we all deserve a break, I know I personally struggle to slow down. In the end, I’ve found the best results when I do what I did this year. I had a firm break up with the school year, ending the day watching the sunset miles and miles away from my schoolwork.

I’ll be at it again soon, but this hard break up is the best way I know to reset into summer mode.

How do you process the shift from school year pace to summer pace?
