The practice doesn’t take a day off for good behavior. Begin again.
Yesterday I wrote 12 posts for my site. The one for yesterday, and 11 pre-written posts for the summer. And I really didn’t feel like writing another today.
But the practice doesn’t take a day off. Because I’m committed to the practice, I write again today, because it’s a new day. It doesn’t matter what I did yesterday, I have to begin again. Yesterday’s successes are valid and I’m happy about them, but that doesn’t let me take today off.
Committing to a practice means that sometimes the practice comes and finds you on the hard days. And then you do the work.
