All The Gigs

When you’re starting out, take all the gigs.

Take the free gigs, take the low-paying gigs, take the gigs with bad hours; take anything that gives you a chance to learn.

The most important mindset is that this is temporary, so you can learn your craft. Do not define saying “yes” to every gig as a permanent strategy. Later, you won’t be able to maintain it and you could learn to dislike your career if it’s not sustainable.

Take all the gigs…for awhile. It’s the best way to learn, and once you’ve learned, you can start choosing which gigs to take.
