Lean into live performance.
AI augmentation is here and it’s going to increase. We can personally avoid using it, we can criticize it, but we’re going to hear more AI-augmented music, see more AI-augmented videos, read more AI-augmented writing.
(To be clear, I will not use and have never used AI here.)
The solution to the onslaught of AI is to lean into live performance. Catch human lightning in a bottle by prioritizing going to live art.
A live concert might not be as glossy as the recording, but it won’t be AI.
A live musical from a local theatre company might not have the voices of the movie musical, but they won’t have the AI either.
As AI “art” becomes more and more present in our lives, I think we will all feel a natural draw to live, living art. Lean into it.
