Adrift

Big transitions leave me adrift. Unable to focus, I wander. Unable to move fluidly from one state to the other, I vacillate.

In the end, I move through the big transitions by:

  1. Making lists.
  2. Trusting the passage of time.
  3. Distracting myself with unrelated projects while never leaving the transition, mentally.
  4. Talking about it.

August always means big transitions in my house, and this August is certainly no exception.
