You Can’t Skip Steps

If you want to get where you’re going, you can’t skip steps.

I love the idea that “The Standard Pace is For Chumps.” To a point, we can all set the speed at which we acquire skills, and the way in which they’re presented to us is often a lot slower than what we can achieve with intention and effort. It’s important to understand that we set our own pace.

But it’s just as important to recognize that you can’t skip steps. Hurrying through your study of a skill, cutting corners or skipping intermediate steps, is a great way to set yourself up for future failure.

Yes, go as fast as you can. But do every step well. Otherwise you won’t end up where you’re aiming.
