Choirs should travel. This week, I’m making a list of the reasons why.
The memories.
You won’t remember today’s rehearsal. You might not even remember next week’s concert. In the context of a choir life, the sheer number of rehearsals and choir concerts means you can’t create lifelong memories from all of them.
I’ll never forget the experiences on my choir tours. I can place myself in every single one of the cities I visited on every single one of my tours. And I have no doubt my next tour will create similar memories. It’s the same for the students I’ve traveled with–the memories they recall most often are the memories of these trips.
Travel creates peak moments and peak moments create core memories.
