Choirs should travel. This week, I’m making a list of the reasons why.
Travel brings a choir closer together.
The world turns off when you travel – the day-to-day commitments are gone.
The connections deepen when you travel – because you’re together so much of the time. The tiredness of travelers also opens them up to connection on a deeper level. Jet lag is a force for good!
Some of the deepest connections among former students are with the ones who have traveled abroad with me. They have a deeper connection with their former classmates, too. The travel forged those connections.
(Is it any wonder that my wife and I started dating on a tour of Europe?)
