I have been processing the cancellation of concerts, conferences, festivals, and an international trip planned for this summer.
All that is tough to process–and the right call.
But what is most important? What is most important is the loss of regular music-making. The daily or weekly growth, the human connection, and the music with fellow travelers is without a doubt going to be the hardest part to deal with.
Choirs are vehicles of connection. Of gathering. I am steeling myself for missing that more and more as time goes by. And knowing that that’s what my student singers will be missing most, too.
