Do you prefer watching a speech from a charismatic person? Or being taught by one?
A teacher, conductor, leader with charisma can galvanize the people they’re leading, and help them to achieve amazing results. Think Steve Jobs, Steve Zegree, Gustavo Dudamel, Oprah Winfrey. When they’re talking, you can’t turn away.
One mistake we often make is equating charisma with hunger for the spotlight.
To me, a charismatic person is a person with something to say. That might mean a narcissist who loves their own voice, but it is just as often an introvert with a powerful perspective.
Dig into what you’re passionate about. Figure out what you want to say. That alone will make you compelling to an audience. That’s charisma to me.
