Every time I think I’m a literary fiction fan, I get engrossed in a great new book about Roman history. When I decided I’m a non-fiction person, I swallow whole a great piece of science fiction. “Oh, I’m a genre person,” I say, only to get obsessed with a novel from the “Classics” shelf. Then I’m leading (and guiding a read-along) of the latest Brené Brown book…
And on and on it goes. So what do I read?
What I read is writing.
Whenever someone says that they only read certain kinds of books, I wonder, how do they know? How do they decide?
If it’s well-written and engaging, I’m in. If it’s poorly written but amazingly plotted, I’m still probably in.
What I read is writing.
