Falling is essential in the learning process. We have to fall to learn.
It’s not fun, it’s not pretty. It can let people down. But it’s inevitable.
It’s my policy as a teacher to let my students fall. Not catch them, but let them fall. And then to help them back up. I think it’s more beneficial than catching them before they fall – before they learn. They learn, they grow, and they get back up with their teacher’s help.
If I don’t let my students fall, I’m preventing them from reaching the peaks of growth that is their potential. I’m doing the opposite of empowering them.
Educators have to let their students fall, and they have to be 100% consistent in helping their students back up afterwards and then giving them another chance.
