In our societal obsession with work productivity, I think we forget to value unproductivity.
We might innately understand the value of playing a board game with family, or reading a novel on the couch, or singing together around the piano, but we ought to consciously acknowledge the value.
Unproductivity leads to human connection.
Unproductivity leads to creative thinking.
Unproductivity reduces anxiety.
Unproductivity leads to improved physical health.
Be idle! Linger with family and friends! Leave the to-do list behind! Be unproductive today!
I wish you a most unproductive holiday, whatever you might be celebrating.
