Trusting The Process

By “the process,” I mean: doing the work.

“Trust the process” is often a phrase used to project calm onto someone stressed. “Don’t worry” is a common preamble. And it’s true, trusting the process should bring a bit of calm when you’re stressed about something coming up (a big concert, perhaps, like the one this Friday at Rockford High School).

But the process, almost invariably, is consistent daily effort. Don’t “trust the process” so much that you stop showing up and doing the work.

I’ll be working nonstop for the next 72+ hours to make sure my students shine on Friday night. That’s my version of trusting the process.
