You don’t schedule a concert based on when you’re ready. You get ready based on when the concert is.
It’s obvious, but it’s also hard to internalize. The idea that the concert is coming, whether you’re ready for it or not, and then the action to mobilize.
Sometimes it takes until minutes before the concert to know you’re ready; other times you aren’t ready until after the first performance. (It’s not very often that you’re completely ready for the concert months in advance!)
It’s the beautiful thing about concerts – that you get to show the audience, “This is where I am today.”
Then you go back and start aiming for the next one.
