Here are a few things that I want you to say at the end of a year singing in my ensemble:
I worked hard.
I was respected by my fellow singers and my conductor/teacher.
I made and achieved musical goals.
I personally affected the music made by the ensemble.
I failed before I succeeded, and I transformed failure into success.
I didn’t love every piece we sang, but I sang every piece with passion.
I learned to love a piece I didn’t like on first singing.
I made lifelong friendships with people I had never met.
I made music with people I disagree with.
Making music with this choir makes me want to make more music in the future.
I am tired, and I want to do it again.
