Nowhere does the process move faster to the “Dark Night of the Soul” than when you pass out new music to the choir.
You go from the excitement of getting new music in your hands to the hard work of sight reading, and then a perspective on the process to get it performance ready in the very first rehearsal.
The bad news is, that’s getting to rock bottom pretty quickly in the process.
The good news is, you’re onto the upward slope almost at once.
