Looking at the blank page is easier if you trust yourself, and if you’re not afraid to delete what you’ve written.
Combine those two things, and you’ll never suffer from writer’s block.
I’ve suffered the disappointment of coming back to a piece and having to delete hours of yesterday’s work. 16, 32, 50 bars of music.
But that actually makes it easier for me to write, knowing that future-me will never let anything go that isn’t good enough. I have a colleague whose judgement I trust absolutely to edit me in the future. Myself.
Trust yourself, delete the bad writing, and keep going.
