We all have that one teacher – the one you think of when someone asks you to name a standout teacher who changed you.
I have four or five off the top of my head, and easily another ten who profoundly affected me in ways small and large.
But whenever I see those conversations start, what I love to remind myself is that every teacher is that one teacher for someone. Every teacher had a student who left their classroom changed for the better. Every teacher makes a difference in their students’ lives.
It makes me proud to be part of a profession committed to changing lives, and to know that I am part of a group who, collectively, has got almost every child covered.
Every teacher is that one teacher for someone.
